PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Nuts and Bolts are most commonly used items in the family of industrial fasteners and their demand is fast increasing due to expansion of industries in the country. Bolt is a piece of metal rod whose one end is upset and at the other end threading is done. Nut is device, which rolls on these threads. In nuts internal threading is done through the combination of nuts and bolts combination into appropriate sizes. Nuts and Bolts are available in various sizes and shapes. The kind of the classification of bolts and nuts may broadly be those made by the cold and hot process plant. Like bolts, nuts may be finished or unfinished, and may be regular or heavy type. Precision high tensile fasteners differ from general purpose nuts and bolts as the former are engineered components with precise combination of mechanical and structural properties besides very rigid dimensional accuracies. The cold forming technology is now universally employed for production of precision fasteners for various uses. Uses and Scope Nuts and Bolts are used for fastening purposes in assembly and in industries where the replacement of pieces and parts is necessary. These are easy to use and to fasten them. In all the equipments and industry, its use is necessary. Without their use any equipment cannot be generally completed. Due to the rapid industrialization, its scope has also increased considerably. Its applications are so wide, it is now difficult to meet the whole demand through existing production capacity. And, therefore, it has become necessary to install some more units for filling the gap between demand and supply. High tensile fasteners are used in engineering applications, such as in the automobile, industrial and other sectors. The varied applications include construction, railways and the domestic sectors. Market Survey The overall fasteners market is estimated at about Rs 28 bn. While the organised sector (HT fasteners) has a share of 65%, the balance of 35% is shared by unorganised sector and imports. Inspired by the phenomenal growth in the recent years, the leading companies in the organised market have regularly been expanding their capacities. The boom has been due mainly to the upswing witnessed by the automobile sector, the main end user industry, accounting for almost half of the demand for fasteners. A variety of specifications and the need for a large number of tools for each type of fasteners also lead to large inventories of tools in different segments.
